Accelerated Job Search Group

Purpose:           

The Accelerated Job Search (AJS) program utilizes a daily job search group that focuses on effective search strategies, daily planning, and participant accountability through a return-and-report approach that drastically reduces the time to find employment.  The overarching principle of the AJS program is to encourage participants to engage in meaningful full-time job search activities. The program supports bishops in helping their members secure employment and has been shown to typically reduce search time to 30-45 days.

Participant Expectations:

Commit to full participation in the AJS program.

Meet daily as a group with AJS facilitators to receive support and training on job search methods and to report progress on accomplishing daily goals.

Develop a daily job search plan that includes identifying 15 new resources, making 10 contacts, and holding 2 face-to-face meetings or interviews daily.

Utilize job search tools,such as ldsjobs.org, as well as community, individual, and Internet-based resources.

Conduct a more effective job search through one-on-one coaching with center staff and working closely with ward leaders.
